The grapes for our Sangiovese were sourced exclusively from Rattlesnake Hills AVA near Yakima, Washington. After hand harvesting the fruit during the last of October, the grapes were brought to San Diego for vinification. Our Sangiovese was aged for 18months in French, Hungarian, and American oak barrels.

 

Tasting Notes

Expressive, full-bodied exhibit of a Super Tuscan-style blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Petit Verdot. Sangiovese delivers ripe black cherry, black plum, and black pepper while the Hungarian oak imparts notes of allspice and cinnamon. Petit Verdot contributes weight and highlights of blackberry. 

Black cherry, Italian pum, blackberry, ripe stone fruit, black pepper.

Pairs with: Beef bourguignon, New York Strip with caramelized onions.
