2019 Avennio
Avennio, the ancient name for Avignon, France, inspired this Syrah dominant blend with Mourvèdre. The grapes for Avennio were sourced exclusively from the Rattlesnake Hills AVA near Yakima, Washington. After hand harvesting, the grapes were brought down to San Diego for vinification. Avennio was aged for 24 months in French oak barrels and bottle aged for an additional 24 months before being released.
75% Syrah, 25% Mourvèdre
Savory and spicy front end gives way to luscious and fruity blueberry and blackberry. Inky deep ruby to purple color. Full-bodied, bold and weighty with soft, polished tannins make for a sumptuous extended finish.
Pair with roasted leg of lamb, smoked brisket, black olives, Cambozola
