2019 Maestrale
Maestrale is Italian for the strong mistral winds that blow through the northern Mediterranean. This Bordeaux-inspired blend features Cabernet Sauvignon (40%), balanced with Petit Verdot (30%) and 15% Cabernet Franc and Malbec respectively. The grapes for Maestrale were sourced exclusively from the Rattlesnake Hills AVA near Yakima, Washington. After hand-harvesting, sorting and destemming, they were brought to San Diego to vinify. Aged 24 months in French oak barrels.
The Cab Sauv delivers an earthy and dusty element while the PV highlights it's juicy red fruit. A delicate floral aroma shows from the Cab Franc and the Malbec brings in savory characterics.
Deep ruby and layered complex elements of juicy red fruit, lavender and pencil shavings. Elegant and refined.
