Lagrein is an ancient grape variety that finds its home in the sunny vineyards of Trentino-Alto Adige in northeastern Italy. It first appeared in wine documentation around the beginning of the 13th century, was praised in 1370 by Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV, and was on the brink of extinction by the 1970s.

This exciting varietal is a rarity. There are only about 1000 acres planted to Lagrein in the world. The grapes for this wine were sourced from a small vineyard near Pleasant Valley in El Dorado, California.

It was barrel aged for two years and bottle aged for two years before being released.

This beauty has a long-ageing potential. It demands to be noticed.
