A very late ripener. This means that some years in France it doesn’t ripen to maturity where it is used primarily in small amounts to add more structure to Bordeaux blends.
In Washington it ripens. It is able to enjoy the extended hang time on the vine.
This 2019 is an extraordinary example of Washington Petit Verdot at its finest.
Aged a full 4 years in French oak, followed by 2 years of bottle aging before releasing. bottle
Full bodied and deep ruby expressing notes of black cherries, black currants and blackberries. Rose pedal on the nose with a nudge of herbaciousness. Finishes long and bold with hints of caramel.
Pair with short ribs, grilled mushrooms, beef stroganoff. white cheddar.
