2020 Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo is an ancient varietal referencing back to the 13th century. It’s home is the Piemonte region of Italy where it is made into some of the most sought-after wines in the world. The communities of Barolo and Barbaresco are the two most famous producers of Nebbiolo.
It’s an early flowering and late ripening varietal which means it needs a long growing season in a location where it is unlikely to face a spring frost. Amador County in the Sierra Foothills is a great place to grow this demanding grape.
This 100% Nebbiolo was barrel aged in French oak barrels for 24 months before being bottled in October 2022.
Pale garnet and full bodied. Classic aromas of spicy rose petal and leather join with notes of cola and dusty oak. Enduring finish with a kiss of tart cherry.
Chicken cacciatore, pasta with mushroom cream sauce, pizza. Mozzarella.
