2021 Nebbiolo
Nebbiolo is an ancient varietal referencing back to the 13th century. It’s home is the Piemonte region of Italy where it is made into some of the most sought-after wines in the world. The communities of Barolo and Barbaresco are the two most famous producers of Nebbiolo.
It’s an early flowering and late ripening varietal which means it needs a long growing season in a location where it is unlikely to face a spring frost. Amador County in the Sierra Foothills is a great place to grow this demanding grape.
Brick colored and medium bodied with a fleshy, full mouthfeel. Earthy characters are layered with complex savory flavors. The finish is clean and long.
Chicken cacciatore, pasta with mushroom cream sauce, pizza. Mozzarella.
